the Owner/Director of Angie’s Dance Academy, studied with Beale Fletcher from childhood and began teaching at an early age. She graduated King’s Business College in Charlotte and quickly came home to become the manager of the Fletcher School of Dance in Clyde. With more than seventeen years teaching experience, Angie opened the Academy in 1991. She is certified to teach by test through Dance Masters of America, Inc., an organization comprised of professional dance teachers across the United States. Angie served on the Board of Directors of the Carolina Chapter of D.M.A., Inc. for six years in the capacity of director and secretary. Angie and her staff travel throughout the United States to attend teacher’s training workshops several times each year. She has performed both locally and on the national level and has choreographed many award winning routines. Angie’s students have danced on college dance teams that include Clemson Rally Cats, WCU, UT, ETSU, Wake Forest, ASU, UNCA, UNC-Carolina and College of Charleston just to name a few. They have garnered Top Overall Awards and have received special recognition as the “Most Entertaining”, the “Best Choreography” and the “Champion of Champions” at competitions across the region. Her students have been awarded cash scholarships toward their continued dance education and many have continued to study dance during and after their college years. Angie’s students have been accepted to the Carolina Proteges and the Carolina Kids, groups of dancers who represented N. C. through performance and community service. Her students have been crowned Master Dance of N.C., Petite Miss Dance and Miss Dance of N.C. representing our state in the National Master and Miss Dance of America Scholarship Pageants. David Ferguson, a longtime ADA student was 1st Runner Up to Teen Mr. Dance of America and is currently enrolled at the NC School of the Arts. Angie’s students grow from a healthy and positive dance experience at the Academy, where you are assured the highest quality and integrity in dance training.

Director of Angie’s Dance Academy, has been a member of the Academy for the past 18 years. She was a student at the Academy for 10 years where she studied Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Lyrical, Hip Hop and Modern. Hayley became a part of “Angie’s Aces” in 1997 and traveled with the performance troupe across the region to many competitions including national events in Myrtle Beach and New York City. Hayley became a soloist in 2003 where she garnered high awards with her routines in tap and jazz. At the age of 14, she became Student Teacher for the Academy and has enjoyed working with the younger children since. In 2007, Hayley joined the faculty of ADA and has choreographed routines earning “Best Choreography”, “Champions of Champions”, “Creative Concept” and “Highest Score of the Day” awards. Hayley is certified to teach by test through Dance Masters of America, Inc. and has an Entrepreneurship degree from Haywood Community College. Hayley is passionate about dance and the impact it can have on a young person’s life, and her enthusiasm is contagious to all those around her.
