Class Description

*Pre-School I: Age 3. A 45 minute imaginative introduction to music and dance movement. It provides an excellent foundation for tumbling, tap, and pre-ballet, encouraging good listening habits and working on coordination skills.


*Pre-School II: Age 4. A 45-minute class of ballet, tap and tumbling offering locomotive skills along with rhythm, balance and musicality. These classes are fun, and give the opportunity to explore all the areas of dance.


*Pre-School III: Age 5-6. A more challenging class in ballet, tap and tumbling providing a stimulating variety of dance and musical expression.




Ballet, Tap and Jazz

 *Ballet/Tap/Jazz Combo: Ages 6-7. A continuing education in ballet skills, terminology, and technique, along with new steps and styles in tap and jazz.

 *Ballet/Pointe: Students of all skill levels age 7 and over will learn barre, adagio, and performance. As they continue their ballet training and meet certain guidelines, such as turnout, muscle strength, flexibility, extension and control, the instructor will place them in pointe shoes.



Jazz, Tap & Hip Hop

*Jazz/Tap Combo: Ages 8 and up. After several years of ballet, this combination class introduces the young dancer to jazz and also continues the study of tap, progressing to more advanced rhythms and sounds.

 *Hip Hop: A funky dance style which utilizes many of the dynamics found in music videos today.


Classes for Boys

Boys ages 4 and up may participate in our co-ed Pre-School, Tumble Bugs, Hip Hop, Jazz, Tap and Tumbling classes.


BOYS may take one DANCE class Free of Charge the first season with the Academy!

*Lyrical: A combination of ballet and jazz techniques.  Lyrical challenges the dancer to express the emotions of the lyrics and interpret the music through their movements.

*Modern:  Modern dance develops the dancer’s core body strength, and is a very physical, athletic style of dance.

*Contemporary: Contemporary dance has grown to become one of the dominating performance genres for formally trained dancers throughout the world.It has come to incorporate elements from many styles of dance, but closely related to modern dance, ballet and other classical concert dance styles. Contemporary dance tends to utilize both the strong and controlled legwork of ballet and modern dance’s stress on the torso, and also employs contract-release, floor works, fall and recovery, and improvisation charecteristics of modern dance.







*Acrobatics: is the performance of extraordinary feats of balance, agility, and motor coordination. It can be found in many of the performing arts as well as in many sporting events, and martial arts. Acrobatics is most often associated with activities that make extensive use of gymnastic elements, such as acro dance and gymnastics.

* Tumble Bugs: A class specifically for pre-schoolers designed to work on neuro-muscular activites, tumbling skills, balance, and hand-to-eye coordination. Mats, mini-tramp, balance beam and other devices will be used in the class as part the learning experience. 


*Musical Theatre

                     is a form of theatrical performance that combines songs, dialogue, acting, and dance.
